Lumecca3Lumecca by InMode Skin Rejuvenation is the most powerful IPL on the market to treat pigmented and vascular lesions (age spots). After just one treatment session, patients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of the skin. Dr. Hanna and her staff are proud to offer superior technology for superior results!

Are you ready for beautiful flawless skin?

In just 1-2 sessions Lumecca improves the appearance of:

  • Age spots (red/brown pigmentations)
  • Telangiectasias (spider veins) and poikiloderma
  • Rosacea (redness)
  • Freckles
  • Sun damage

What areas of the body can be treated?

Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. This often includes the face, neck, décolletage, legs, hands and arms.

How does the IPL laser work?

The IPL laser operates using a process known as photothermolysis, which provides a photofacial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment. During treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the IPL treatment that feels like a light elastic sensation.

What do I need to do prior to my treatment?

It is recommended to avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning one month prior to treatment. You should also discontinue the use of minocycline, tetracycline, doxycycline or Retin-A/Renova several days before each treatment.

On the day of your treatment, arrive at the office with your treatment area free of make up or lotions.

What can I expect during the procedure?

Prior to your treatment, your skin will be cleaned and dried. You will then be given a special laser shield to protect your eyes. During treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the Lumecca that feels like a light elastic sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin (similar to a mild sunburn) are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; after about 10 days, the pigmented lesions begin to flake off, leading to a more even skin tone. After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days. Your treatment time can vary from 20-50 minutes depending on the size of the zone you are having treated.

What can I expect after my treatment?

After treatment, redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal. These usually subside within an hour or two. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone.
After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.

How many sessions are recommended?

You will notice an improved skin appearance after the first session. Multiple sessions provide even better results. Your individual treatment regime depends on the severity of your skin damage, skin type, type of treatment (vascular vs sun damage) and energy settings. Dr Hanna usually recommends beginning with at least 2 sessions.

How quickly will I see results?

Sun damage and skin complexion results can be seen a few days after the first session but he most visible results are noted in 1-2 weeks. Having multiple photofacial sessions will improve the final result. For vascular treatments such as facial telangiectasias, results can be seen in up to 2 weeks.

What are the side effects?

Most patients do not experience any side effects. Any skin reaction usually resolves within a few hours. Patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight and tanning. It is also recommended to use a daily sunscreen all year round to prevent sunspots from returning after your treatment.

Is Lumecca safe?

Lumecca IPL is cleared for use on skin types I - IV and has been used safely by clinicians to treat thousands of people in the U.S. alone. Lumecca side effects are rare, with most skin reactions subsiding within a few hours after treatment.
